First one this year so far. So sorry about that. :XD: Since it's been so long, we've decided to feature TWO pieces rather than just one. :D


The first one comes from the Arts & Crafts folder. It was a piece we found so incredibly charming, with great colours and an impressive attention to detail. With no further ado, we bring to you:


- Og the Musical Orc by *MiniatureMistress :D


Her own words about the piece:


I think up stories for my miniatures while I'm painting them and that helps them develop as a character. The story behind it was he is a musical orc that all the other orcs made fun of, so he booped them on the heads and they didn't laugh anymore.


The next one comes from the Animations, stamps, icons and logos folder. This particular piece impressed us with its simplicity and artistic elegance, standing as a stark contrast to the dangerous wilderness that make out the background. With no further ado, we bring to you:

Important lesson learned while making this poster - less is more! Good news for lazy people such as myself.

The story is set in the Forgotten Realms of many hundreds of years past - the golden age of Netheril. A young woman on an unusual quest seeks out the followers of Talos, and gets more than she bargained for. A story of duty, love and loss, and plenty of brutal combat.

Greetings and welcome to Forgotten-Realms-FC. Here we celebrate the Realms in the varied, vast world it was and should be, completely Spellplague-free. :heart: We hope you enjoy your time here.




Submission guidelines:





:bulletgreen: Featured is for Founder and Co-Founder only. Here we will feature deviations that we feel stand out among the rest.



:bulletgreen: NPCs is for FR characters already established in the FR universe from before the Spellplague. This does not include NPCs from games such as Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights.



:bulletgreen: OCs is for characters created by this group's members, whether for the sake of a story or a game. Character sheets go here.



:bulletgreen: Pairs is for pictures of two characters. They don't have to be romantically involved with each other.



:bulletgreen: Groups is for pictures of more than two characters.



:bulletgreen: Creatures is for the many creatures found in Faerûn, Kara-Tur, Maztica and Zakhara.



:bulletgreen: Literature is for any kind of FR fiction writing, from poems to fanfictions.



:bulletgreen: Comics is for any kind of FR story in comic style.



:bulletgreen: References, Resources and Realmslore is for information about the Forgotten Realms as well as original content created by the members. Alphabet references and the likes go here. For more information, look here: [link]



:bulletgreen: Deities is for artwork depicting the many gods and goddesses of the FR universe. This includes holy symbols.



:bulletgreen: Places and landscapes is for artwork of various cities, the wilderness of Faerûn or some peculiar sites that can be found only in the FR universe (such as the Great Glacier or the flying city of Shade).



:bulletgreen: Game NPCs is for artwork of NPCs from games. This folder is for the deviations that won't go to the NPCs folder.


:bulletgreen: Arts and Crafts is for miniatures, props and other craftsmanship related to retro-FR.


:bulletgreen: Animations, stamps, icons and logos is for anything related to retro-FR that falls under this type of art form.



Rules:





:bulletred: This group is for fans only. Haters or bashers of the Forgotten Realms can take their business elsewhere.



:bulletred: No 4th edition or post-Spellplague artwork or stories. This includes monsters and official stories specific to 4th edition and post-Spellplague Faerûn.



:bulletred: The artwork must be of intermediate level or higher. This goes for literature and Arts & Crafts as well. Stamps and animations can be simple, but should still show a certain level of dedication put into the work.



:bulletred: No tracing, colouring of screen captures, bases or WIPs, please. Anyone found guilty of character theft or art theft will be banned from this group without warning and reported to the dA police. This goes for altered portraits from games, books and other copyrighted material as well. No motivational or demotivational posters, photomanipulations or screenshots. No cosplay or sketch dumps. Preview images for stories must come with permission from the original artist and proper credits - unless you drew it yourself.



:bulletred: No fantasy "armour" for either men or women, please. We accept only the realistic kind. Some lenience is given for OCs.



:bulletred: No characters from other fandoms or other D&D campaigns, including original, self-made ones. This group is for Forgotten Realms, not D&D in general. Adding a character from FR to the artwork doesn't count, either. About OCs: If we're not familiar with your character already, make sure you add at least 2 - 3 sentences worth of description of the character, especially his/her connection to the Forgotten Realms.


:bulletred: Kindly refrain from using our group as a place to advertise yourself. Spamming will be met with zero tolerance and the person blocked. If you have anything FR-related that could use some advertisement, like a story, a group, a contest or something else, please send us a group note with the details and we'll look it over.


:bulletred: Lastly, concerning declined submissions: Please don't take this personally! Sometimes it happens that we admins can be a little "triggerhappy", and we will quickly do our best to remedy this, but when something clearly violates the rules, we will put our foot down and say no, and that means no. Kindly refrain from insults, name-calling or any other forms of negative and abusive behaviour. It will be fully visible in the admin area and remembered for later reference, in case it happens again. If it repeats itself three times, with no sign of improvement, the member will be removed from the group. Persistence from then on will lead to the person being blocked. We operate within the framework of the rules set, both for this group and dA in general, and if your submission doesn't meet them, it will be declined. Also, please remember to submit to the right folder. If you have any questions regarding a declined submission, please ask them on the correspondence message. Thank you.
